Squadra Classica

Although someone may argue that road cycling is an individual sport, it's more fun with friends! At all Direct Road Classics monuments, you can enjoy a shared experience spiced up with the effort to achieve the best team result.

Whether you're a group of friends or colleagues from the same company, the new Squadra Classica format is here for you.

Rules

To participate in the team competition, you must have at least four members. There is no upper limit.

The team can be made up of any number of women and men, so it can consist of only women or only men, or any combination of the two.

The team's result is based on the sum of the times of the four fastest members on two measured segments.

It is therefore possible for different team members to ride different formats (swing and race) and, above all, routes of different lengths.

For successful classification, at least four members must finish within the time limit. All members who finish within the limit are, of course, also part of the individual classification according to the format they have chosen.

We announce the three best teams and also award the team with the highest number of members.

To give you a better idea, here is an example with a fictional company called Cycling All Stars s. r. o. A six-member team arrived at Road Classics Pálava with four men – Tadej Pogačar, Mathieu van der Poel, Jonas Vingegaard, Tom Pidcock – and two women – Demi Vollering and Lotte Kopecky.

Van der Poel and Vingegaard chose the long route and race format, Pidcock and Vollering chose the long route and sprint, and Pogačar and Kopecky chose the short route. The fastest to complete the Devín and Reistna segments were Pogačar (13 minutes and 20 seconds), Vingegaard (13 minutes and 35 seconds), Pidcock (14 minutes and 3 seconds), and Kopecky (15 minutes and 26 seconds), and with a total time of 56 minutes and 24 seconds, Squadra Classica dominated. The time of Vollering and Van der Poel, who was slowed down by a defect, was not taken into account due to their 5th and 6th positions within the team.

How to register a team?

Companies that need to invoice the entry fee can register using the FORM. We will then contact them with further information via our email address info@roadclassics.cz.

The second option, for groups of friends, is our SportID registration system. All team members must have an account, and the designated captain adds them to a group order, thereby obtaining a group discount and paying. Then, in the application management section, they click on "SELECT TEAM," add their teammates, give the team a name, and everything is ready for the team adventure.
